Mirimiri/Romiromi - Private Session
Service Description
Mirimiri/Romiromi is a traditional Māori healing practice that work holistically to restore balance and well-being. It acknowledges the interconnectedness of tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit), and ngākau (heart), addressing imbalances held within these spaces. Mirimiri focuses on the energetic exchange, encompassing the unseen spiritual and mental dimensions of healing. It involves takutaku (incantation), kōrero (dialogue), and the identification of energetic blockages in the body, linked to whakapapa (lineage), environment, and trauma. Romiromi is the physical application of this healing, through applying pressure to haemata (pressure points) and gentle streching and movement of limbs. This powerful mahi (work) stimulates cellular memory, releasing accumulated pain, stress, and trauma held within the tissues. It can be a raw and primal process, facilitating deep emotional release and realignment to bring the individual back into balance across all dimensions – ā wairua, ā tinana, ā hinengaro, ā ngakau. Both practices are tailored to your individual needs, providing a safe and nurturing space for healing. Funded Sessions Available: We are committed to making traditional Māori healing accessible to everyone. Funded sessions for Mirimiri/Romiromi are available through ACC, some EAP (Employee Assistance Program) service providers, and our valued community partners. For comprehensive details on eligibility and how to access funded sessions, please visit our Partners page.
